Terry Brannigan

Senior Captain Terry Brannigan is a four-year starter for the Wreckers. Terry is a two-time Ludlow Invitational Champion and a three-time FCIAC and LL place winner. As a Junior, Terry's season was marked by continuous improvement through the post season tournament series, where he finished 7th at the Connecticut State Open Championships, and advanced to the round of 32 at the VA Beach High School National Championships. Terry is a quiet leader who leads by example. "Wrestling is like no other sport in the world and I agree with Dan Gable's observation that once you've wrestled, everything else seems easy. I could not be more proud of our wrestling family, from the Freshman to the coaches to the awesome families who support us. Go Wreckers!"

Alex Kappel

Jonathan Law High School wrestler @ 171 & 189 Lbs Won over 100 matches Placed top-3 SCC’s Placed top-5 at Class M’s Finished top-8 at Open’s. Started on the Cadet Freestyle National Team for Connecticut. Attended college at Western Connecticut State University - played competitive club rugby for 4 years and was captain for 3 years. Luke Molina

Luke Molina is a four-year Varsity wrestler who wrestled for Mad Bulls as a youth. He also plays football, and will be a captain of the Varsity rugby team this coming Spring. Wrestling has instilled discipline in Luke that has helped him in all areas of his life. Being part of a the wrestling team has been like an extended family, as Luke looks forward to being a role model and mentor for all the new members of the team.

Jacob Rizy

Captain Jacob Rizy is the 2019 FCIAC Heavyweight Champion. Jacob is also Captain of Staples’ Varsity Football. He is committed to the Harvard Football program for the Fall of 2020. Wrestling has been essential over the years; improving his ability to be a multi-sport athlete. Jake is an involved Captain that often gets the team and crowd cheering. "Wrestling takes intense discipline and is like no other sport. It’s significantly improved my football game and I can’t imagine being an athlete without having wrestled.”

Paulo Freitas

Three-time FCIAC Champion, LL State Champion (two-time placer), Open Champion (two-time finalist), New England finalist and Eastern States placer.

Chris Cornell

Chris was a four-year Division 1 wrestler and a two-year starter at Sacred Heart University, and remains an active Alum within several of its programs. He wrestled Varsity at Mahopac High School, named 3 time All-County and to All-Section, while compiling a record of 91-29. Chris has extensive coaching experience with the West Point Wrestling Camp and the Mahopac Youth Wrestling Association

Gaetana Deiso

“G” is certified with the National Athletic Trainer’s Association and is licensed through the state of Connecticut. She graduated from Springfield College in 1999 with a Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training and a minor in Nutrition. She begins her 13th year as Head Athletic Trainer at Staples. Prior to Staples, she worked 5 years as Head Athletic Trainer at Greens Farms Academy and at Moore Center for Rehabilitation. She also worked with Fairfield University’s football and rugby teams from 1999 to 2002. In the summer of 2002, she worked at Boyle’s Strength and Conditioning in Boston, where she trained many professional athletes and Olympic athletes. She was also on the CATA Secondary School Committee from 2007-2012. "G" is a Certified Functional Strength Coach and a TFW (Training For Warriors) Certified Coach. She is the owner of Body Blast Sports Performance. She lives in Trumbull with her husband, Doug, and daughters, Michaela and Gabriella.
