Jacob Qiu

I placed third at FCIAC last year for 160 pounds, I'm looking to wrestle 170 pounds this year and take first at FCIAC. I'm also looking forward to storming states and hopefully contending at New Englands this year.

Daniel Boccardo

I'm looking forward to working with the team and placing in FCIACs and States. I've been wrestling since freshman year and have been amazed at how far the program has grown. I've seen it all since the beginning and I have high hopes for this growing program and my performance senior year.

George Harrington

I started wrestling in my sophomore year in 285 pound category. My record last year was 44-4. I won FCIAC Championship & Division LL Connecticut State Championship. I also participated in regional in New England and nationals in Virginia Beach. I wrestle at Empire, NY. I am also Captain of Staples Rugby and am All FCIAC in football. I am a youth coach for PAL Football.

Gaetana Deiso

“G” is certified with the National Athletic Trainer’s Association and is licensed through the state of Connecticut. She graduated from Springfield College in 1999 with a Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training and a minor in Nutrition. She begins her 13th year as Head Athletic Trainer at Staples. Prior to Staples, she worked 5 years as Head Athletic Trainer at Greens Farms Academy and at Moore Center for Rehabilitation. She also worked with Fairfield University’s football and rugby teams from 1999 to 2002. In the summer of 2002, she worked at Boyle’s Strength and Conditioning in Boston, where she trained many professional athletes and Olympic athletes. She was also on the CATA Secondary School Committee from 2007-2012. "G" is a Certified Functional Strength Coach and a TFW (Training For Warriors) Certified Coach. She is the owner of Body Blast Sports Performance. She lives in Trumbull with her husband, Doug, and daughters, Michaela and Gabriella.

Corey Iamonico

Corey is certified with the National Athletic Trainer’s Association and is licensed through the state of Connecticut. She graduated from Sacred Heart University in 2008 with a Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training. Upon graduation Corey worked for Forme Rehabilitation in New York where she was contracted to Eastchester, Tuckahoe, Mount Vernon, & New Rochelle High Schools. She returned to Connecticut in 2009, worked for Innovative Health & Rehabilitation, and covered New Canaan Youth Football, Staples High School in the winter, and worked in the clinic setting during the spring and summer. She is entering her 7th year as Assistant Athletic Trainer at Staples High School. She is also a Certified Kinesio Taping Practioner. Corey is originally from Hartsdale, New York and currently lives in Bridgeport.
